The Egypt Travel Price Index
What a Nile cruise, a dahabiya, a package and a day tour actually cost, from the published prices of 63 trips sold by one operator based in Luxor. Every multi-night figure is per person per night, so they can be compared with each other.
What a night on the Nile costs
A per-person total tells you nothing until you know how many nights it covers, and a cabin total tells you nothing until you know how many people share it. Both are converted here to one figure: what one traveller pays for one night, sharing.

What a day tour costs
Day tours have no nights, so they keep a per-person price. These are guided days with transport and entrance fees, not the price of a ticket at the gate.

| Day tours | $30 | $115 | $425 | 11 |
Where these numbers come from
This is one company’s published price list, not a survey of Egypt. It is worth reading as what it is: what a mid-sized Luxor operator charges in the 2026 season, which is a real reference point and not a national average.
- 63 trips on sale — 50 of them priced by the night, 11 day tours priced per person, and 2 carrying no usable price and left out.
- 11 figures come from published rate sheets — the dahabiya sheet quotes euro per person per night, converted at 1.153; the cruise sheet quotes cabin totals, divided by two for double occupancy and by the number of nights. The remaining 39 come from the catalogue price, which is the per-person fare for the shortest duration in summer.
- Cruise prices move with the season and dahabiya prices do not. The cruise figures here are summer rates; winter runs roughly 40% higher. Dahabiyas hold one rate all year, with a separate higher rate at Christmas and New Year.
- A band with fewer than 3 products behind it is not published. Those rows are marked rather than removed, because an empty row says something about the catalogue that a missing one does not.
Compiled from the catalogue behind the Nile cruise fleet, the dahabiyas the day tours. Prices are in US dollars and change with the season and the rate sheet; the figures above are regenerated from the live catalogue each time this page is built.
